How to Live Abundantly: The Secret
Last night I watched a very inspiring movie that has the power to change the way the world thinks and acts. It is called The Secret (www.thesecret.tv )and can be watched on DVD or online (for $4.95). I was so impressed with the movie, I've passed it on to many of my clients. It is definitely a "must see"!
Much of what life coaches teach their clients are the Principles of Attraction and Abundance and this is what The Secret is all about. These two principles are so life-changing that, once learned and lived, you will never go back to your previous way of thinking.
In a nutshell, the Principle of Attraction says that our thoughts are energy. What we think about most manifests itself. If we think about, focus on, complain about or somehow give thought energy to everything wrong in our lives, then our negative energy (and behaviors) attracts just more of the same thing we don't want.
Conversly, when we focus on what we want (all the GREAT stuff we can have in life), we can naturally attract ALL that we want into our lives. The key here is being aware of and consciously choosing and envisioning what we think about and where we put our thought energy.
This is where the Principle of Abundance comes into play. Begin from a place of being aware of and thankful for all that you already have in life. Notice how your energy changes when you make a list of what you are grateful for! When you put yourself in a positive emotional space, you are in a position to effortlessly attract what you want. It is an amazing process that has worked for me and for millions of people for centuries!

Hey
Just a quick comment saying...
1) Great blog
2) I agree about thoughts being energy. For me, how I think is crucial about what things wind up happening. It realy directs how I percieve the world and how things get dealt with, learnt from and remembered. I think knowing how to think and to think fairly (i.e. not always mentally beat yourself up) are huge talents.

Hey RM,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, I definitely agree that knowing how to think in a way that you can naturally attract things into your life, while not beating yourself up and accepting others' way of thinking is absolutely a HUGE and RARE talent in the world. I believe that is a big part of the reason the life coaching profession has emerged - to help teach people these skills.

It is possible to change things, I am proof! Let's take parents complaining about their teens. Are you convinced that teenagers are "from another planet" and conflict is an everyday occurrence?
Well, you are wrong! You can have a great relationship with your teenager - I have.
Quite frankly, if I hear "I cannot wait until my teen moves out" one more time, I will blow my top.
You can end the arguing; you can have a really great relationship with your teen. Do something - you owe it to yourself as well as your child.

Hi Everyone. I watched "The Secret" after watching "What The Bleep" which gave me an interesting perspective. I feel it is all well and good to be positive and visualize what you want, but does that mean you will automatically get it (the red bike scene?) Surely most people who buy a lottery ticket visualizes themselves winning it! (and spend the money in their mind before they win :) The other implication that I think can be dangerous is that there is a fine line between thinking “Whatever I wish for I get.” and “Whatever has happened I wished for.” How does this apply to someone who has cancer, or is robbed – does this mean that they unconsciously wished for it to happen? It's sort of like blaming the victim of a crime for the crime. I thought “What The Bleep” which explained reality along the lines of quantum physics to be a more balanced film. kind regards Harley M Storey – the Life Coach Toolman.

As with all things positive thinking helps us find a place that allows us to deal with some of the issues that may before have been holding us back. Glad to see somebody sharing their thoughts with the Net. David from the United Kingdom.
